Abstrakt wystąpienia
Brief introduction to Sun energy potential, and geographical aspects will be done. The base for the potential, huge, and long lasting growth of solar cells will be presented.
The actual technologies for solar cells produced for the mass market will reviewed. Basics for the main types of the solar cells and their manufacturing methods will be given. The review will cover Silicon crystalline, and also dominating thin film technologies( e.g. Amorphous, and Micromorph Silicon, CdTe, CIGS, Polymer, DSS). Major players on the solar market will be indicated.
Overview of the worldwide relevant and potentially successful research on solar cells will be attempted, and the most probable trends indicated.
The research overview and its prospects are a subjective opinion of the author.

Informacje o pralegendzie:
Dr. Wlodek Mischke is a former respectable scientist, who for many years worked worldwide in the high technology industry introducing successfully several new advanced  processes into production.  He worked for companies in Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, and Canada, addressing the global world market. As a scientist he worked at A. Mickiewicz University in Poznan, and Rijks  University in Leiden (NL). Primary involved in physics of lasers, laser technology and applications for Rayleigh-Brillouin spectroscopy. He  was behind substantial improvement of gas discharge lasers technology, and also technology for the first laser manufacturing in Poland.
Next he was involved for many years in technology for Optical Data Storage, being one of the pioneer implementing various processes for manufacturing of Recordable Optical Media. Some of the world biggest media producers started their production under his guidance. He was acting also within Optical Media Format defining organisations, leading some testing technical groups.
Last years he is coordinating several projects for Solar Cells technology, as technology expert and consultant studying crystalline, as well as thin film solar cells technology, directing implementations projects with some of the biggest equipment and solar  cells manufacturers in Europe, and the Far East.
Many of his projects from the past were run in cooperation with  several  leading European Universities, and research institutes (e.g. Graetzel’s group in EPFL), and  also with many global corporations, like Philips, Akzo-Nobel, Bayer, BASF, Hoechst, Ciba, Dow Chemical, ICI, Fuji, Hitachi, Sony, Toshiba, and more. Somehow he was always successful in animating the complex technological projects.
In fact, he was involved with the new, and coming technologies, which found mass and successful application on the market only.

Czy wiesz, że ...

Biomimetyka to naśladowanie przyrody. W projekcie BioMed są opracowywane inteligentne formy leków, które rozpoznają chore komórki; działanie leków jest wzorowane na zasadzie funkcjonowania wirusów, które rozpoznają a następnie infekują komórkę.
